Description

Step into the magical world of the Toy Box, where imagination comes to life! In this beginner musical theatre class, young performers will discover the foundations of acting, singing, and dancing while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Through fun theatre games, character exploration, movement, and music, students will learn how to tell a story on stage and develop essential performance skills.

As we journey through the Toy Box Adventure, students will discover that every toy has a purpose—and every child has unique gifts and talents given by God. Along the way, we will learn what it means to be a good friend, encourage one another, and work together as an ensemble.

Teacher:

Kailyn Melendez

Kailyn has loved the performing arts from a very young age. Beginning dance at just three years old, her passion grew to include acting, singing, musical theatre, and playing the drums. To her, the arts have always been a beautiful way to tell stories, express emotions, and connect with others, and she is excited to help children discover that same joy. Rooted in her faith, Kailyn believes that every creative gift is given by God for a purpose. She is passionate about helping students grow not only as performers but also in confidence, communication, creativity, and their understanding of who God created them to be. Her greatest joy is combining her love for Jesus with the performing arts and encouraging young artists to use their gifts to share His love with the world. Throughout her years in ministry, Kailyn has choreographed dances, written and directed church productions, stage managed live events, and helped bring the Gospel to life through creative storytelling. She strives to create a fun, encouraging, and faith-filled environment where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired to grow. Whether she’s teaching choreography, working on a scene, or helping students find their stage presence, Kailyn’s goal is for every performer to leave class with greater confidence, a deeper appreciation for their God-given gifts, and the joy of creating. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10
