About CYT Classes

CYT Orlando offers classes for students ages 5-18 throughout the school year. Class sizes are small, and supervision is available both inside and outside the classroom. Classes are 2 hours, once a week, and run for 9 weeks. CYT hosts 3 sessions each year - Fall, Winter, and Spring.

Registration begins in August (Fall), October (Winter), and January (Spring)

Our regular session classes are $275 for a nine-week session, with a two-hour class each week and an end-of-session showcase.

Thursdays, November 12 - January 28

Enrolled students, ages 8 –18, have the opportunity to audition for a CYT Broadway-style musical! Younger students may serve as ushers at CYT shows, and students ages 14 and up may work on a backstage crew. Follow us @cytorlando for more information.

CLASSES REFUND POLICY-
NO REFUNDS OF ANY KIND  2 weeks before the first day class begins. Prior to 2 weeks, a $25.00 cancellation fee per class is applied to refunds. Refunds are returned to the original form of payment. Camp/class changes are subject to availability. Tuition must be paid in full in order to register online for camp/class.
 
 

Curriculum

CYT Orlando offers a wide variety of classes that will enable students to gain valuable theater arts training, develop confidence, and make friends! CYT's goal is for our classes to be Vibrant, Imaginative, Inclusive, and Uplifting!
 

CYT offers classes at varying levels in these disciplines:

  • Drama/Acting
  • Voice Training
  • Dance 
  • Improv/Comedy
  • Musical Theater 
  • Our Gang - Multi-faceted Musical Theater classes for our 5-7 year-old students.

As we grow, we will offer even more classes in areas like sets, costumes, props, makeup and technical behind-the-scenes. 

Showcase

Every CYT Orlando session concludes with a special Showcase, where students share the skills and talents they've developed throughout the session. Whether they're performing a scene, singing, dancing, or presenting another theater art they've been practicing, each class takes the stage for a 5–10 minute presentation.
Parents, friends, and relatives are invited to attend this free event and celebrate each student's creativity, growth, and hard work. The Showcase is always a fun and memorable way to see the confidence and skills students have gained during their time at CYT. We hope you'll join us—you won't want to miss it!

Attendance Policy

Quality performing arts education and character development are primary goals of CYT. Therefore, students should not plan to miss more than 3 classes. These absences should be limited to school events or other unavoidable conflicts. Special consideration may be granted regarding absences due to illness or a family emergency. In these instances, please make requests to the Class Coordinator in advance and as promptly as possible for consideration. All communication regarding absences must be done by contacting the Class Coordinator.

Should your child’s attendance in classes (or rehearsals) exceed the maximum allowed absences, he/she is subject to replacement in the production in which they are currently cast, and they may be removed from the class Showcase. 

Teaching Artists

At CYT Orlando, a Teaching Artist's mission is to train and instruct students and promote the development of character, self-esteem, and confidence in every student. CYT Teaching Artists are qualified and experienced in the areas they teach. They have been trained in the CYT methods of instruction and agree with the CYT values and outcome goals.

All CYT Orlando Teaching Artists have been background checked and adhere to our CYT Mission and Values. Our teachers truly care about their students and provide a constructive, fun learning environment.

Our goal is that every student leaves our classes feeling more confident in who they were created to be as well as their performing arts skills. CYT is committed to providing excellent training in our THEATER craft by staying informed of National VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) standards. CYT hires qualified Teaching Artists and Artistic Teams who consistently elevate our students’ knowledge of theater arts.
